A.F.L

HISTORY

1991 is when the Adelaide Crows Football Club was started.  Before then the V.F.L. had lots of Victorian football teams playing and other states had their teams.  The Adelaide Crows team was made up of players from SANFL (South Australian National Football League) football teams. Other teams in the A.F.L. were all V.F.L. teams, then  the  Brisbane Bears (now the Brisbane Lions) and West Coast Eagles who had already joined the V.F.L. in 1987. The other interstate teams now in the A.F.L are the Fremantle Dockers, Port Power and Sydney Swans.

THE RULES

To start the game the umpire bounces the ball in the middle of the circle.  If the team gets a goal, the umpire brings the ball back to the middle to bounce  in the circle again.  If you get a goal you score 6 points and if you get a point you score 1 point.  There are 18 players on each team on the oval and some reserves on the bench  if players are injured.  If  players get into a fight the umpire can report them. Then they have to go to a hearing and if found guilty may get suspended for 1 or more games.
