All about the Anzacs

The war went from 1914-1918. On one side Turkey, Japan Austria-Hungarian and Germany(the central powers on one side).

On the other side Australia, New Zealand and Britain.

There were 19,367 Australians and New Zealanders  wounded.

They landed on the beach.  Many were killed.

The survivors ran to shelter of the cliff base and waited.

They fixed their bayonets and swarmed up the cliffs.

The Turks were waiting for them with  gun-fire shells and hand grenades.

Only a few made it to the top of the 3rd ridge where they could see the Dardenelles.        by Brad H. 2002©
