Introduction The Gold Coast is a big and beautiful city 1 hour's drive south of Brisbane. The population is 100,000 to 1,000,000. Lots of retired people go to live in either the Gold Coast or the Sunshine Coast. The Gold Coast is famous and popular for its beautiful beaches and great surf, for its sub-tropical rainforests and the best entertainment choices. For many decades Australians both young and old have been attracted to the Gold Coast, with great excitement of having lots of fun and a holiday to enjoy by the sea. |

National Parks You can find Nightcap National Park far north-eastern of New South Wales and 30km south-west of Murwillumbah. Standing the western half of the Nightcap Range and along side Whian Whian State Forest to the east. This park is beautiful with lots of mountains, ridges and gullies. Tamborine National Park is so popular with day visitors using the picnic tables and going on short bushwalks in a natural and Australian environment. |
Weather and time Everyone living or holidaying at the Gold Coast enjoy a sub-tropical climate and an average of 300 days of sunshine a year. Spring is from September to November, Summer is from December to February, Autumn is from March to May and Winter from June To August. The Gold Coast runs on Eastern Standard Time and they don't have Daylight Savings in Queensland. |

Theme Parks The four theme parks are Sea World, Movie World, Wet'n'Wild Water World
and Dreamworld. You'll find Sea World at: Seaworld drive main beach, Gold Coast Queensland

family. Movie world is also fantastic. Its food is good, it has the best rides and is for
all the family. Beaches, Bays, Rivers The Gold Coast has 70km of sparkling coast starting from Cabarita Beach in New South Wales, North to South Stradbroke Island. On the Gold Coast there are 35 beaches that are patrolled. It also has safe year-round swimming beaches. The beaches of the Gold Coast have Australia's biggest wide area of calm water. Shopping Centres The Gold Coast has Queensland's largest shopping centres and markets. Some of their names are: Pacific Fair, and Robina Town Centre. There are more than 20 markets open along the beachfront and in the Gold Coast's hinterlands. |
