Physical description Large kangaroos with long hind legs and feet, long thick, tail, heavy frame, short, thick colour of red, grey or both colours together, black on both sides of the nose. Sexes are often the opposite colours in different areas. In males, head and body is a lengths of 65 inches (160cm) Their maximum weight is about180 pounds (82kg). Females are smaller then males. |

Predators The predators of the Red Kangaroos are the dingo and men. Farmers often shoot Red Kangaroos.

Behaviour The biggest living marsupial, the Red Kangaroo lives in mobs and is active in daylight during cooler weather. They eat grasses and some small green plants. They can jump up to 2 metres in height and hop up to 5 metres distance in each jump. It covers about a 12 to 14 foot distance (4 to 5 metres) every leap. In small bursts of speed it can go 35 to 40 mph (60 to 70 Km per hour). |
